Expert Answers about Cable Locks

  • Cable Will Not Retract On Lippert ToyLok Retractable Cable Lock with Padlock
  • The Lippert ToyLok Retractable Cable Lock with Padlock, part # LC337120 has a 1-year limited warranty. The three holes you described are for attaching a hitch mounting kit for the retractable cable lock, part # LC337111. If the system has moisture in it you may be able to use a lubricant to get it to free back up and retract the cable as designed. If not, the # LC337120 may need to be replaced. If you are not planning on using the holes in the cable lock, you can plug the holes to prevent...

  • Programming And Troubleshooting A Master Lock Quantum Self-Coiling Cable Lock That Won't Unlock
  • In order to set the new combination on your Master Lock Quantum Self-Coiling, Combination Cable Lock # 8122D, you will need to have first unlocked the lock by setting the combination to "0000", and removed the other end of the cable lock. From here you would've turned the lock cylinder inside 90° clockwise, and set your new passcode ensuring that the new code lines up with the marks on the case. With the new combination lined up, you'll turn the lock cylinder inside 90° counter-clockwise...

  • Can RadRover 6 Bike be Carried on Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO Bike Rack
  • I checked out the frame of your RadRover 6 e-bikes and the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # LGA77FR that you are interested in would easily work well with it. The step thru bike frames like what you have were carefully considered when the cable and rest of this rack were designed as this is a very common frame design for e-bikes. Also the loop end of the lock setup would not be able to slide over the lock housing.

  • Removing Locks On A RockyMounts Bike Rack Without The Keys
  • That is a tricky one. It might be possible to get you a replacement key for your RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002. We would need to know the key number. This can be found usually on the key itself, or on the face of the lock core. RockyMounts key numbers usually start with the letter E, followed by 3 digits. Other than that, there is no way to get it unlocked without keys. This is by design. Otherwise what good is the lock you know? In some cases we have removed lock cores by drilling...

  • Lever for Cable Release on the Raceway Trunk Mount Bike Rack 9001 No Longer Works
  • You will first need to make sure that the unit is not locked or partially locked. This would only affect the cables on one side of original Raceway 9001 bike rack. If it is not that side then there is likely a part of the mechanism that is broken so that the drum that holds the cable is not disengaged into freewheel mode (which is what happens when you pull the lever). You may still be able to turn the wheel and ratchet out the cable. There is no replacement part available for this problem...

  • Mighty RV Power Cord Disconnects from Trailer Because of Trailer Outlet Position & Weight of Cable
  • It sounds like you will have to insert the end of # A10-5025ED, rotate it to "lock" it into place, and then run the cable up and over the yellow plug and then route the cable down so that the weight is on the other side pulling the plug the opposite direction it would turn if the cable was hanging normally. The other option is to adjust the plug on the trailer so as to eliminate the issue altogether. This is the first time I have heard of this issue so it could be that the trailer outlet...

  • Troubleshooting Tow Bar Cable S-Hooks Bending the Hitch Pin
  • I have a solution for you, but I do not think getting a longer hitch pin is the answer. From the picture you provided, it looks like it is the S-hook of the safety cable that is getting behind your hitch pin and the pushing into the hitch lock side causing it to bend. You can use the RoadMaster 8" Safety Cable Extensions # RM-910648-8 to extend the S-hooks further away from the hitch pin. You would feed one of the loops through the attachment hole on you hitch and then loop it back around...

  • Falcon 2 Tow Bar Keeps Falling Out of Stored and Latched Position
  • It sounds like there is problem with the storage latch on your tow bar. I recommend making sure all the nuts and bolts are tightened because if something has gotten loose over time then that could be the problem. If you think there is a problem with the latch itself we have replacements; # RMB001353. There isn't a special device made to hold up the tow bar arms (other than its own latch) so the best solution would be to use a cable lock such as # 8122D. The benefit of using a cable lock...

  • Opening the Master Lock Safe Space Box When Door Wont Open
  • I contacted Master Lock directly regarding the Master Lock Safe Space Portable Storage Box with Combination Lock # ML5900D . The first suggestion was that sometimes even when the correct combination is entered and the numbers are ever slightly offset, it can release the cable while not allowing the door open. The second suggestion was that after trying to realign and reenter the code and it still will not open, using a flat surface tool like a srewdriver may open the door used carefully.

  • Troubleshooting Masterlock Safe Space Portable Storage Box with Combination Lock
  • Since the combination has released the cable, I recommend carefully trying to pry the box open with your fingers or a screwdriver. While you're doing this try to go up and down a couple numbers on the dial from the combination you put in to get the cable to release. There is no code that I can give you to unlock it. The only default combination for the MasterLock part # ML5900D is 0-0-0-0. If you never changed the combo that's the only number I would be able to provide you. If none of these...

  • ToyLok Cable Lock Cable Will Not Retract and Rusty Dust Falls Out of the Case
  • There likely is some corrosion inside that is causing the ToyLok such as # LC337120 to not retract the cable back inside the case. The great thing about ToyLoks is that they are very secure. So secure that it is difficult to get into them without damaging something. Unless you have the right driver bit for the secure hardware holding the case on, I recommend replacing it. There are many different models available and I have included a link to them for you. You could also keep the mounting...

  • Can Lippert ToyLok Retractable Cable Lock be Opened at the Seam
  • I reached out to my contact at Lippert and he said that you would pry it open at the seam but the problem is once it's been opened it will be that much easier for someone to break back into it so you'll be better off getting a while new unit, part # LC337120. If you'd rather avoid going this route then we have the Fulton 15' Cable Lock # FCLK150100 that I recommend picking up. It doesn't have a retractable feature but it gives you as much cable as you were getting with the ToyLok.

  • Thule OutWay 9001 2-Bike Rack Stuck Strap Solution
  • I spoke to my contact at Thule and she informed me that for you situation there isn't a fix for your rack # TH9001XT. It would have to be a warranty rack replacement. Since this has a lifetime warranty you should be covered just fine. You will want to contact where you bought this rack from and they will organize the replacement of the rack. The problem you listed is actually one of the reasons they redesigned the rack to the next version, the # TH9001PRO and then they redesigned it again...

  • Brake Controller Wiring Harness for a 2010 Ford F-150 and P3 Brake Controller
  • For a 2010 Ford F-150 and Tekonsha brake controller you should be using harness # 22292. The harness that comes with the brake controller is a generic one that is used for hardwiring applications. The end of harness # 22292 that plugs into the truck should look like the picture I have included. If all of the wires on the harness you are using are on the same row then that is the harness for the Super Duty models and not the F-150. The wires can be moved by releasing the locking tabs...

  • How to Adjust a Gorilla Lift Utility Trailer That Has Too Much Tension
  • It sounds like the tension on your Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Cable # GL1 is too high. To lower it, you're going to need to: 1.Lower the point at which you have cables attached to your tailgate a little at a time and test lifting power. Never lower it enough to allow any slack in the cables, keeping the cables the same height on both sides of the tailgate. 2. If after lowering your tailgate attachment point as far as you can without allowing any slack in the...

  • Troubleshooting Brakes that Wont Work After Replacing Breakaway Cable
  • Since you mentioned a battery, I assume you are talking about electric brakes. In that case, if you pulled the breakaway pin to replace the cable, and left it disconnected, it would only take about 10 to 15 minutes for your breakaway battery to fully drain since pulling the pin automatically applies the brakes and keeps them locked until the pin is replaced. If your brakes won't activate when the pin is pulled, try recharging your battery first. However, if you're testing the brakes by...

Once you have the tailgate open remove then end pieces to make sure the cables are attached correctly. • Potential Issues if a Demco Air Force One Braking System is Engaging the Parking Brake on a Sierra
  • I have not come across this being an issue when using the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # SM99243 in your 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 before. So I went ahead and reached out to the manufacturer to see if they have come across this before and I have included what they were able to tell me below. "It sounds like when the customer disconnects the negative cable, the truck is still finding a ground through either the tow bar or lighting cables. As a result the truck acts as if...
